Alpin
About This Home
Baufritz has been building timber homes in Bavaria since 1896, and the Alpin is their most committed expression of Alpine architecture. Steep-pitched roof, generous timber detailing, traditional covered balconies, and large panoramic windows designed to frame mountain views. It is a model that clearly knows what it is and executes it well.
The construction is fully ecological, with Baufritz's patented wood shaving insulation and triple glazing delivering high thermal performance suited to mountain conditions. Healthy, allergy-friendly materials are used throughout, which is a Baufritz characteristic across the range but particularly relevant for a home designed for alpine living. At 76 m² across two storeys, the layout is efficient without feeling restricted.
Customisation is available on layouts and finishes. UK deployment is possible, though the design reads most naturally in upland or rural settings.
What We Love
The Alpin is one of the most architecturally coherent Alpine-style prefab homes available. It avoids the pastiche that often undermines this aesthetic and delivers the real thing, built with Baufritz's ecological specification.
