Fortescue
About This Home
The Fortescue is Baufritz's most explicitly English design. Multiple pitched roofs with gables, traditionally styled triple-glazed windows, and a heritage-influenced overall form make it readable as a classic country house from the outside, while the construction underneath is entirely contemporary. At 246 m² over two storeys and a loft, it is a large home with five bedrooms.
The ecological timber frame and Baufritz's patented wood shaving insulation deliver the thermal and air quality performance consistent with the rest of the range. Chemical-free, allergy-friendly materials are used throughout, and optional renewable energy systems are available.
For buyers who want a large family home that does not read as obviously prefab, and who want a design with genuine English architectural character, the Fortescue is one of the very few options available from a European manufacturer at this level of ecological specification.
What We Love
The Fortescue is one of the few prefab homes built by a European manufacturer that genuinely engages with English country house architecture. Five bedrooms, Baufritz's full ecological spec, and an exterior that holds its own alongside traditional builds.
