About This Home

Baufritz has been building timber homes in Bavaria since 1896, and the Gruber shows their ability to work within a traditional architectural language while maintaining modern performance standards. The gabled roof and mixed facade reference classic German residential forms, but the build quality and specification underneath are firmly contemporary. Four bedrooms across 132 m² on two storeys is a practical configuration for a family.

The ecological timber frame uses Baufritz's proprietary wood shaving insulation, which has been developed and refined in-house since the early days of the company. The insulation system contributes to the home's high thermal performance and is one of the reasons Baufritz homes consistently perform well on energy efficiency ratings. Allergy-friendly, chemical-free materials are used throughout the build.

The Gruber is a good choice for buyers who want traditional exterior character with a well-engineered interior rather than a compromise between the two. Interior configurations are customisable. German building standards apply; UK compliance is confirmed on a project by project basis.

What We Love

The Gruber pairs a genuinely traditional gabled form with Baufritz's in-house wood shaving insulation system, giving buyers exterior character that most prefab manufacturers cannot match alongside a construction spec that most traditional builders cannot either.
