Sunset BUD 1.2 LivingHome

The Sunset BUD 1.2 is a 620 sq ft one bedroom ADU from the Sunset BUD LivingHome series, designed by Burdge Architects in collaboration with Sunset magazine and Plant Prefab. Developed for California wildfire zones, it uses fire resistant aluminum siding, doors and roofing, and features a dedicated master bedroom and an optional Murphy bed. Hard costs cover factory fabrication, transport, installation and sitework.

A dedicated master bedroom and a Murphy bed in 620 sq ft means the Sunset BUD 1.2 does not force one room to do all the flexible-living work. The Murphy bed extends usable space without turning the bedroom into a multipurpose compromise, the usual trade-off at this size.
